Fundación José “Palillo” Santiago
Esta fundación fue creada en el 2008 por el ex-lanzador de grandes ligas José Rafael “Palillo” Santiago. Al vivir en carne propia los problemas de su hijo Arnold y su esposa Jessica luego de saber que su hija (su nieta) Alisha Marie naciera con la enfermedad Aciduría Glutárica Tipo 1 condición que no tiene cura. "Palillo" Santiago al ver lo difícil que ha sido levantar fondos para aliviar los altos costos médicos relacionados con su condición y de conocer un sin numero de padres y madres que están viviendo lo mismo que ellos o peor ya que no poseen los recursos para poder conseguir ayuda económica tienen que recurrir a las calles a vender toda clase de artículos para poder ayudar a sus hijos sabiendo que hay personas en la calle que no les creen que es para ayudar a un niño enfermo o impedido, eso le estaba partiendo el corazón a "Palillo". Por esta razón, decide reunir a su esposa Edna, su familia y algunas amistades para que asi todos unidos poder hacer algo para por lo menos tratar de ayudar a una parte de estos niños que tienen enfermedades terminales o algun impedimento, ya que el gobierno no puede ayudarlos a todos por que son demasiados. “Si yo puedo aportar aunque sea un granito de arena para hacer la diferencia en algún niño es mi deber como cristiano y ser humano hacerlo” es el lema de "Palillo" Santiago. Con esta fundación se espera recaudar suficientes fondos en PR para principalmente ayudar al Comité Pro-Fondos Alisha Marie y lograr la meta de ayudar a otros niños enfermos e impedidos. Con la ayuda de Dios y el noble corazón de todos los puertorriqueños y personas de otros países que conviven con nosotros esperamos lograr el propósito de la Fundación José R. Palillo Santiago.

José Santiago Foundation
This foundation was created in 2008 by former Boston Red Sox pitcher José Santiago. After he experience the problems of his son Arnold and his wife Jessica went thru after knowing that their daughter (Jose Santiago granddaughter) Alisha Marie was born with the illness Glutaric Aciduria Type 1 (GA 1) a condition that does not have a cure but require constant care and to see how hard was for them and the Santiago’s family to get everything they needed for the little girl and how difficult is for families that have kid’s ill with conditions that require so many things that most of them can’t get because they don’t have the money or the resources to get them. After seeing all those family trying anything in the streets, work places, etc, he decided to start the Jose Santiago Foundation with the help of his family and friends to be able to raise money to help with his granddaughter Alisha Marie’s medical care and to help family that couldn’t raise the enough money to get what their child needs to get better. We all know that the government cannot help everyone because there are too many kid’s that are ill, but at least with this foundation I know I could make a difference in someone that needs help. Jose always say’s "We all need to try to make this world better for our kid’s and is my duty as a Christian and human being to do it".With the help of God and the noble heart of all Puerto Ricans and people from other countries who live with us we hope to achieve the purpose of the Jose Santiago Foundation.
